How Do You Make An Origami Edelweiss?
You may know edelweiss as the subject of a song in “The Sound of Music.” It’s a beautiful, short-lived perennial originally from the steppes of Asia. Learn how to make an origami version of the edelweiss. Fold the paper diagonally. If your paper has a pattern on one side, fold so that the pattern is hidden. Fold the paper again, making a smaller triangle. Open one of the flaps that you’ve just created and fold it back over itself. Flip the paper over and do the same on the other side. Shake out all of the folds so that you’re back to the original square. You’ve divided the paper into eighths, as you can see by the folds. Flip it colored-side up, fold the middle two triangles on one side together and push the two outer triangles down on each side, making the paper look like a rectangle. Do the same on the other side to make a square. You should see a diagonal crease on the front. Lift up the top flap on your square (the bottom portion is visible when you do this) and squish it down flat
