Making an old-fashioned fire extinguisher is a relatively easy project that can be done in a short period of time if you have the right materials and tools. The good thing about making an old-fashioned fire exstinguisher is that all the ingredients are common household items. Clean a plastic bottle or a plastic jar with an airtight plastic lid. Do the same with the small plastic cup you are going to use for storing baking soda. Choose a plastic cup that is thin but high and much smaller than the plastic jar. Use liquid soap or dishwashing fluid mixed with warm water and thoroughly clean the inside of the plastic containers.
