How Do You Make An Ohio State Buckeye Necklace?
Show your Ohio State University pride with an easy to make buckeye necklace. Be careful handling buckeye nuts, however, because they are poisonous. Make sure buckeyes nuts are clean and dry. You may have to order them online if you can’t find them locally. Choose buckeye nuts that have no cracks to prevent mold growth. Drill a small hole with a drill bit through each buckeye, being careful not to crack it. Have extra buckeyes on hand in case some break while drilling. Measure a length of string or yarn to desired length for necklace. Thread a buckeye onto the string, tie a knot, and add three to four colored plastic beads, alternating between red, white and grey (red and grey are Ohio State colors.) Tie another knot to keep beads in place. Continue threading buckeyes onto the string and adding alternating colored plastic beads between each buckeye nut.
