The chair has screws on the bottom that hold the seat in place. There also may be screws on the back holding it on. Step 2 Measure the cushions to find the correct measurements for the back and bottom of the office chair. If the back and bottom are one solid piece, decide whether to cover the entire piece or to cover the back and seat separately. Step 3 Add 6 inches to the measurements. Cut the fabric. For example, if the seat is 2-feet wide, the total width for the cut is 2 feet, 6 inches.
