How Do You Make An Italian Beef Sandwich?
I’m from Chicago and one of the things I miss most is the Italian beef sandwich. Since these Italian-American sandwiches are scarcely available outside Chicago, I have to make my own when I get a craving. Originally sold at hot dog stands by Italian American vendors, this sandwich has become a Chicago favorite. This recipe serves four people. Pour 6 cups of water into a large pot over medium-high heat and add the packets of au jus. Separate the roast beef and add it into pot. Cook roast beef on low heat for approximately 30 minutes to let the flavor of the juices sink in. Toast the hoagie buns for 5 minutes.
