How Do You Make An Ilium Cocktail?
An ilium cocktail is a simple, easy-to-make drink that was inspired by classic summertime cocktails like the pina colada, mai tai, tropics and planter’s punch. The ilium is usually served straight up in a chilled cocktail glass, but you can serve the drink in a highball glass filled halfway with crushed ice and club soda, or you can blend the drink with 1/2 cup crushed ice for a refreshing frozen cocktail that’s perfect for a warm summer day. Fill a cocktail shaker half-full with crushed ice. Add the citrus-flavored vodka, orange juice, dark rum, lemon juice, banana liqueur and grenadine syrup to the cocktail shaker. Cover the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds. Strain the contents of the cocktail shaker into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish the finished cocktail with a fresh lime wedge. Serve immediately while ice cold.
