Snow days can be some of the most fun days for children. One of the most rewarding winter experiences can be creating an igloo out of snowballs. While the snow igloo has been recently re-popularized by the movie “Where The Wild Things Are,” igloos have been around for thousands of years. It seems as though children have been building snowball igloo forts for nearly that long. Step 1 Pick a good location for the snowball igloo. This area should be far away from the street, as cars and snow plows could move the snow, causing a potentially dangerous situation. Igloos are best when placed on a flat area with at least 1 inch of packed snow for a base. Clear this area of any debris. Step 2 Determine how big you want the igloo to be. Depending on the size, the snowballs will be of various sizes. You’ll need at least 40 large snowballs, so be sure there is enough fallen snow.
