In fact, all it requires a long piece of speaker cord and a set of wire strippers. Here I will outline the steps that you need to take to make your own FM antenna. Step 1 Cut a length of speaker wire that’s around ten feet long. This will allow you plenty of room to hang up your antenna anywhere you want. Also, more antenna means better reception. Step 2 Strip one end of the wire off by about an inch with the wire strippers. This will reveal the shiny copper wires that were inside the plastic sheath.
