How Do You Make An Emergency Sewing Kit?

0

Everyone can use a needle and thread or an extra button some time in life. Keep this handy kit in your car, truck, desk or purse for all your sewing emergencies. Find a small box, such as a matchbox. You can also use a small coin purse. Decorate the box by covering it with a small piece of wallpaper or sponge-painting it. Glue a small magnet strip onto a small piece of cardboard. The cardboard should fit inside the box, but be easy to remove. Lay a sewing needle on top of the magnet. Wrap basic colors of thread around the piece of cardboard. Good colors to have on hand are white, cream, black, navy, red and gray. Make sure you wrap the thread around the sharp point of the needle so that it doesn’t show. Add small buttons to the box in neutral colors such as clear and black. Include a couple of safety pins for those moments of desperation, and a needle threader to make life a little easier.
