How Do You Make An Electric Guitar Sound Like An Elephant?

0

Musicians have been creating interesting sounds with their guitars for years. Guitar icon Steve Vai made his guitar “talk” in such songs as “Yankee Rose” and “Tobacco Road.” But guitars can make other sounds, too, most of which are animal sounds. One of the more difficult of these animals to mimic is the elephant, since it requires several steps and more than just the guitar to create; however, with practice it can be mastered. Turn the volume knob on the guitar all the way down to zero. Play a natural harmonic chord on the seventh fret of the high E, B and G strings and let them ring. Use your fretting hand (not your strumming hand) and do a whammy bar dive. As the whammy bar comes back up, turn the guitar volume up at the same time. When both the whammy bar and the volume are back at maximum, quickly whammy dive again and turn the guitar volume knob at the same time.
