Children, especially, can understand how electricity works by performing experiments on their own. This experiment to make an electric circuit is safe, simple and easy to do. Step 1 Gather the supplies listed in the “Things You Will Need” section. Place them on a table. Step 2 Set the battery aside. Take the battery holder and attach the red wire to one contact point on the light bulb holder and the black wire to the other contact point on the light bulb holder. If you would like to use a switch, attach the switch to the middle of the red wire. Step 3 Place the small light bulb inside the light bulb holder. Screw it in.
