How Do You Make An Egyptian Puff Pastry Dessert?
• Cook pastry in oven until light brown and crispy. • Once the pastry is ready, remove and keep aside for later use. • Boil milk in a suitable pot. • As the milk starts to cool, add sugar and mix well. • Add cinnamon powder, raisins or sultanas and sliced almonds into the sweetened milk mixture. • Mix well and allow this milk mixture to come to a boil for the second time. • Now leave this mixture aside for later use. • Break the cooked pastry into small pieces and add to a baking tray or a glass casserole. • Pour hot milk over the pieces of puff pastry. • Allow to settle. • Now pour whipped cream over the milk and puff pastry mixture, such that the entire surface is covered with whipped cream. • Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes, or until the cream turns brown in color. • Remove from oven. This dessert can be served hot, or allowed to cool before serving.
