Instead of purchasing a birthday card and a gift this year, give your friend the card and gift rolled into one. Edible birthday cards are as fun to make as they are to eat. The following will show you how to create a birthday card that will fill their tummies as well as their hearts. Place the contents of a package of pre-made sugar cookie dough onto a greased cookie sheet. Roll the sugar cookie dough out with a rolling pin. Make a rectangle shape out of the dough. Separate an egg yolk and beat the yolk in a small bowl. Discard the remaining egg. Add 3 or 4 drops of food coloring to the beaten egg yolk. Make as many colors as you like. Paint the egg yolk and food coloring mixture onto your card. Use a light base color. Add your “Happy Birthday” message, decorations and pictures with varying paint brushes.
