How Do You Make An Ancient Chinese Lantern?
If you plan on throwing your own Chinese New Year’s party, having Chinese lanterns is a must. Luckily, you don’t have to buy Chinese lanterns. With a few supplies and some spare time, you can create your own lanterns with your own special touch. Get your materials. To make your very own Chinese lanterns you will need red construction paper or red cardstock, tissue paper and pipe cleaners. Red is a very important color for the Chinese culture as it symbolizes good luck. When you choose tissue paper, try to choose colors like yellow, gold or orange to symbolize fire. Fold construction paper in half longways. Your lantern will be as long as the width of the paper you decide to use. Once you’ve folded your construction paper, cut about a dozen or so slits from the crease to about 1 ½ inches from the edge. The edges will serve as the top and bottom of your lantern. Once you’ve cut slits, unfold the construction paper and roll it into a cylinder shape so the ends meet. Staple or tape the sea
