How Do You Make An Ancient Chinese Lantern For School Projects?
In Chinese tradition, the 15th day of the first lunar month marks the Chinese Lantern Festival. It is the first night to see a full moon, and in Chinese tradition thousands of lanterns are hung outside for everyone to enjoy and appreciate. Riddles are placed on the lanterns along with beautiful paintings. This Chinese tradition can be traced to the Sui Dynasty of the sixth century and is enjoyed to this day. Making ancient-style Chinese lanterns with elementary students teaches them about history, culture and art. Position materials such as colored construction paper, watercolor paints and brushes, scissors and glue in a central location of the classroom for easy access by elementary students.
