How Do You Make An Air Gun Silencer?
Air guns fire pellets using the power of compressed gas, and the rapid expansion of this gas causes a loud pop. It’s simple to muffle the pop of an air gun with an easy-to-make pop bottle silencer. Cut an empty, 2 liter soda bottle with a pocket knife so that the neck of the bottle will fit over the muzzle of the air gun. Cut the bottom off the bottle. Cut an old comforter into strips. The strips should be the width of the thick part of the bottle, minus roughly 3/4 to 1 1/2 inches. Try to keep the stuffing together with the strips. Fasten the comforter strips to the inside of the bottle with a staple gun. Layer and stack the strips as you go. Periodically check your progress. Put the silencer on the gun barrel, and put a cardboard tube into the silencer so that it extends from the muzzle. Leave a path the width of the paper towel tube for the air gun’s pellets. Duct tape the bottle onto the end of your air gun.
