Step 1 Measure your waist, hips and the length you want the skirt to be. Step 2 Lay out your fabric and cut two panels for the skirt (one front and one back) conforming to your measurements. Be sure to have about 3 extra inches in length for the hems and and 3 or 4 extra inches in the sides to accommodate darts. Step 3 Pin the two panels together, pinning a zipper into one side. Also pin two triangular darts into both panels.
