How Do You Make Americanized Cabbage/Egg Rolls?
Through experimentation I have put together a recipe that even my 9 and 12 year olds love. Cut up cabbage to size of your liking. I prefer 1-2 in strips about 1/4 in wide. Use a kraut cutter if you have one. I like to mix purple and regular cabbage for fun. Fry up about 1/2 to 1 pound of pork sausage. Break up into smaller pieces. Season with a teaspoon of ground ginger, 1/2 garlic clove, and a dash of seasoned salt. “I like Lawry’s seasoned salt.” Mix two cups raw cabbage, sausage, 2 cups cooked rice, 1 cup mixed veggies, two eggs, 1/4 cup diced onions, mix thoroughly. Take one egg and mix in a small bowl. Use your finger or a small brush to spread the egg mix. Lay out each wrap on at a time and scoop 1/4 cup of mix onto the wrap. Roll once and paint the edges with egg mixture to seal. Fold in the ends. Now finish rolling.
