How Do You Make Allergen Free Rice Krispy Treats?
I remember growing up as a child and my mother making us Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treats. That was one of my favorite snacks growing up as a child. Now that I am a father, I can pass down this tradition to my children. There is however a catch. My oldest sun is allergic to peanuts. So instead of using Peanut Butter we replace this ingredient with Soy Butter. We have also substituted Peanut Butter with Sunflower Butter. I actually tend to prefer the Sunflower Butter over both Peanut and Soy Butter as it has a smoother taste. Most people are actually not aware that there even is such a product available. Both Soy and Sunflower Seed Butter offer excellent substitutes for those with food allergies. Bring the Karo Syrup and Sugar to a slow boil stirring often. Slowly stir in the Soy Butter, and continue to stir often. Remove the Karo Syrup, Sugar, Soy Butter mix from the heat and stir in the Rice Krispies.
