How Do You Make A Woven Ribbon Or Yarn Purse?
I am having so much fun weaving. There are so many possibilities with this craft. I have woven ribbon, yarn, and fashion yarn. I have made different styled purses and coin purses. The nice thing about this craft is that you can make many variations from one pattern just by using different materials. Cut a piece of corrugated cardboard 8 inches wide by 6 inches tall for a large purse. For a smaller coin purse cut it 4 inches wide by 3 inches tall. Along the top of the cardboard cut slits every 1/2 inch (1/4 inch deep) for purse, and every 1/4 inch (1/4 inch deep) for the coin purse. You should have a total of 15 slits across the top. Then on the bottom right hand corner ΒΌ inch from the edge cut another slit. To begin weaving start at the first slit on the top left. Measure your ribbon 2 inches in and place it through the slit at the 2 inch mark. Wrap the ribbon completely around your cardboard loom; back to front and through the first slit.
