How Do You Make A Worm Composting Bin?
Worm casting is one of the best natural fertilizers available, and composting with worms also happens to be a very cheap and easy way to recycle your food waste. Follow these simple instructions to create your very own worm bin, and feel good about organically nourishing your garden and reducing our land fills at the same time! Using the 1/4″ bit, drill approximately 20-30 holes evenly spaced holes in the bottom of each bin. These holes are essential for proper drainage of your bin, and will also allow the worms to move from one bin to the next when you are ready to collect and use the castings. Using the 1/16″ bit, drill ventilation holes along the top edge of each bin around the sides, approximately 1″-1.5″ apart. Still using the 1/16″ drill bit, drill 20-30 holes in ONE of the bin lids. This will provide additional ventilation for the bin actively being used to compost. Bedding is essential for your worms to survive, and also serves as a food source. Prepare your bedding by shreddin
