Making a worm bin is the work of only a few minutes, and will last for as long as you need it. Using simple plastic tubs, a drill and a few other supplies will allow anyone, whether you live in an apartment or out on the farm, to quickly and cheaply make a composting area. Convenient access to composted soil for a garden is another benefit of making a worm bin. Keeping compost limited to one area will help you control the amount of compost created and allow you to access it whenever you need it, whether to add more material to the compost bin or to take soil out of it for your garden. Drill 20 evenly spaced 1/4-inch holes in the bottom of each bin. Drill ventilation holes 1-inch apart around the rim or edge of each bin. Drill 30 evenly spaced 1/4-inch holes in the top of one of the lids. Shred newspaper into 1-inch
