Whatever your reason is for wanting to build a trellis, it can be done in very little time, with little equipment, and with little out of pocket expense. Build a wooden trellis to go up along the side of your house or shed for a decorated look and for the support of your plants that have long vines. Find a large open space, like your driveway or garage floor. Make sure the area is clean and clutter free. Take 7 48 inch lath sticks, which can be purchased at your local hardware store in the lumber department. Lay them out side by side, making sure that they are all the same in height. Once they are all together, fan them out, 5 inches apart at the very top, making sure that the bottom of the sticks still touch (like seen in the picture above).
