How Do You Make A Wonderful Chocolate Icing?
Have you ever had an icing that that was more chocolate tasting than sweet?! This icing was created by my mother a very long time ago. Pour sweetened condensed milk into sauce pan or in top pot of a double boiler after water in the bottom pot is boiling. Make sure you have used the rubber scraper to get all the product out of the can. Turn on heat to low. You can microwave chocolate (cut into half) at 15 second intervals until melted or mostly melted. You can always just put the halved pieces into the milk and stir longer. Add the melted or mostly melted chocolate to the milk in the sauce pan or double boiler. Stir. Add the vanilla. Continue stirring. Continuously stir mixture until it’s thick enough to spread. Use spatula or rubber scrapper to apply to cake. You can make a double batch and use between the layers. I prefer a jelly between the cake layers.
