How Do You Make A Window Box?
Nothing oozes charm like a window box full of trailing plants and flowers! To build the one shown, you’ll need a few simple tools, some lumber and supplies, and some scrap cardboard to transfer your pattern. Let your imagination run wild with decorative ideas, or copy mine, hand lettered with an old garden verse. Measure the window where your box will mount. Cut the bottom board for your project; it should be about the same width as the window. Cut two ends from 12 inch wide boards and bevel a few degrees on the miter saw to match the slant of the face board. I rounded the tops of the end boards on the box in the photo. Cut the back out of ten inch board and the front out of 12 inch wide board. I used pine, but you can use what you have on hand, or even plywood. Slant the ends so that they all match, as in the photo. Mark a center line on the face board of your window box with a ruler and pencil, so that you can flip your template, line it up and make the other half of your design matc
