How Do You Make A Windmill Lawn Ornament?
Windmill lawn ornaments are whimsical and add character to your home’s landscaping. You can easily make a windmill for your yard or garden with a few supplies from your local craft and home improvement store. Paint your windmill with decorative colors or make it solid white and plant bright flowers at the base. Measure and mark each of the 2×4 sheets of plywood diagonally down the center, creating two equal triangles from each sheet. You will use three of these for your base and the fourth for the vanes of your windmill. Rip the plywood along the diagonal line with a table saw. Set on piece aside and stand the other three together on the two feet wide base so that they form a three dimensional triangle with the tip at the top. Secure the sides of the triangles to each other with decking screws. Drill a ½ inch hole close to one end of the eight inch long treated wood post.
