How Do You Make A Wedding Garter?
Wedding garters are not that hard to make. If you’d like to personalize yours, here’s how to do it. You can find ribbon and edgings in all kinds of patterns. Reference the wedding colors, the grooms favorite sports team, or a hobby. Cut the ribbon and lace about 1 and 1/2 times the distance around your leg where you plan to wear the garter. Cut a second piece of ribbon the same length as the first. Thread your needle. Roll one end of the thread around your finger, then roll it off to form a knot. Hold the two pieces of ribbon together, and stitch one edge together along the whole length. Now add the lace. Sandwich the lace edge between the two ribbon edges, and stitch all three together. Pin a safety pin to the end of the elastic, or use an elastic threader if you have one. Thread the pin end of the elastic through the tube in the garter formed by the ribbon.
