While text remains an important component of any web page, graphic images generally dominate most sites because a picture can communicate several concepts in a compact space that would take a text description many paragraphs to accomplish. In addition, many of today’s younger Internet users are more familiar with receiving information through images than words. To make a web page graphic, you need an art program capable of handling many Internet formats. Download an image from the Internet or a digital camera, scan it from a magazine or book, or create one from scratch using your favorite art program. You will use this as the foundation for your web page graphic. Determine the picture parameters of your website by looking in the website’s Help text or contacting customer service.
