How Do You Make A Waterfall Feature Out Of A Barrel?
A water feature is a lovely addition to any yard, offering soothing sights and sounds to accompany relaxation in a chaise or hammock. Fortunately, you don’t need a huge yard to enjoy a water feature. Even with a small yard, patio or balcony you can create a tranquil setting with a beautiful, barrel waterfall. Even better, a barrel waterfall is quick and easy to build, so you can be enjoying the sounds of trickling water after just a couple hours of work. Use the paint brush to coat the inside and outside of the barrels with the sealant/preservative to make them watertight and to protect them from the elements. Once the sealant/preservative has dried (may take a couple days), fill the barrels with water. Allow them to stand for a few hours so the staves (the wooden side pieces of the barrel) will swell and you can check for leaks. If you find leaks, plug them with a dab of silicone sealant. In the half barrel, drill a 2-inch hole, 2 to 3 inches from the top of the barrel. The hole shoul
