Building a Washer Pit is quite easy once you know the measurements and the materials to use. A lot of equipment is not needed, especially if you’re able to have the cutting of your lumber done at the warehouse when picking up the supplies. This washer pit is used in the game of washers similar to Horseshoes, and shouldn’t be confused with the other iterations of the game. Position two 5-foot landscaping timbers on a level area of ground parallel with each other, approximately 3 feet apart. Between the top two ends of the 5-foot timbers, position one of the 3-foot landscaping timber. You should end up with an upside down “U-shape” where the top two corners are flush and create 90-degree angles. Between the bottom two ends of the 5-foot timbers, position the other 3-foot landscaping timber. You should now have a rectangular-shaped box where all four corners are flush and create 90-degree angles. Chalk or spray paint an outline on the ground around the outside and the inside of the rectan
