If you’re a vegetarian, you can still enjoy a delicious version of the popular cheese steak sandwich. Much of what makes a cheese steak sandwich good is the combination of other ingredients and flavors added to the steak, so if you make a sandwich with all the ingredients except the steak, you can still have all the flavor of the traditional cheese steak sandwich, even without the meat. This recipe makes 3-4 sandwiches, depending on the size of the roll. Slice one 8-ounce package of white mushrooms into thin slices. Add mushrooms to a sauté pan with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Cook mushrooms on medium-high heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Chop one green pepper and one small (or 1/2 large) onion. Add green pepper and onion to mushrooms in sauté pan, along with 1 more tablespoon of olive oil. Cook for 5 more minutes on medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
