The Twisted Ribbon quilt border is one of those deceptive borders where the design depends on color and fabric choice. Made completely of simple triangles, it looks like a curling ribbon falling down the side of your quilt. This border is easy enough for beginners, yet looks impressive with many quilt styles. Choose your fabric carefully for this design. You will need three fabrics: one main fabric in a medium tone, one accent fabric that is darker than the main fabric (ideally a darker version of the same fabric), and one background fabric that will stand apart from the first two. For instance, for a blue ribbon you could go with a French blue main fabric, navy blue accent fabric and white background.
