A vegetable trellis is a good way to make sure that the vegetables in your garden (particularly vine-like plants such as tomatoes, cucumbers, peas, and different types of melon) thrive. It is important to construct a trellis that is well built so that it can be used year after year and also so that it does not collapse and destroy the plants growing on it. Lay the two, four- to six-foot 2-by-2 pieces of wood about four feet apart so that they are parallel. Place one of the 1-by-3 pieces of wood at the bottom end of the 2-by-2s, thereby creating three sides of a rectangle. Using the electric screwdriver, fasten the 1-by-3 to the two 2-by-2s. Take another 1-by-3 piece of wood and secure it to the other end of the 2-by-2s, completing the rectangle shape. Take the first two foot 2-by-2 piece of wood and stand it perpendicular to the small side of the rectangle. This will create an L shape with one of the larger 2-by-2 pieces. Holding the piece of wood as straight as possible, screw it to t
