Toy cars have been fueling the imaginations of children since the invention of the automobile. From tiny matchbox type toys to scaled down functional cars that can be ridden on, toy cars come in all shapes and sizes. While today’s toy market offers a plethora of commercially produced vehicles none of them can quite compare to the charm of a simple wooden toy car. You can make your own toy cars from scrap lumber with a few simple tools. Design your car. Use a coloring book or child’s picture book for inspiration. Find or create a simple outline of what you want your car to look like. Draw it out full size on a sheet of paper and cut out the outline with scissors. Select a piece of wood to make your car from.
