How Do You Make A Toy Bow & Arrow?
A child’s bow and arrow set can be made with nothing more than a few tree limbs, a piece of string and a pocketknife. The toy can give a child hours of enjoyment while he plays hunting or Old West games. This is a project that can be made in less than an hour and parts can be replaced as needed. Choose a tree limb approximately 2 feet long and at least 1 inch in diameter. Use the pocket knife to cut the limb from the tree. Cut a notch in each end of the tree limb. Lay the string over one notch, wrap the string around the limb several times and tie it securely to the limb. Pull the other end of the string to the opposite end of the limb, creating a bow in the limb. Center the string in the notch, wrap it around the end of the limb several times and tie it off. You have completed the bow. Take smaller straight tree limbs and cut them to approximately 1 foot long. Put a single notch in one end of the limb. This creates your arrows.
