How Do You Make A Top Hat Cocktail?
A Top Hat cocktail is a bourbon-based drink that has a sweet, smoky, fruity flavor. Bourbon is most commonly served straight, on the rocks or reserved for variations on classic cocktails like the Manhattan, but there are quite a few new fruit-based bourbon drinks that are enticing new drinkers to the smooth, rich flavor of bourbon. The Top Hat is usually served straight up, but it can be poured over ice in a sours glass as well. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with crushed ice. Add the bourbon, the honey, the Seville orange juice, the red currant nectar and the rye whiskey to the cocktail shaker. Cover the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds. Strain the contents of the shaker into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish the cocktail with a fresh orange wedge and serve while very cold.
