How Do You Make A Tipperary Cocktail?
A Tipperary cocktail is a simple drink that, like so many cocktails that have come from the roaring 1920s, is made of dry gin, sweet French vermouth, citrus juice and grenadine syrup. Of course, every cocktail is a little different, and the proportions are never the same. The Tipperary cocktail is perfect for any gin martini and Manhattan cocktail, as the flavors really blend the two drinks together in a way few other cocktails do. This recipe makes one Tipperary cocktail. Fill a cocktail shaker half-full with ice cubes. Add the dry gin, French vermouth, freshly squeezed orange juice and grenadine syrup to the cocktail shaker. Cover the cocktail shaker and shake gently for 10 to 15 seconds. Vigorous shaking will bruise the gin, so don’t shake too hard. Strain the contents of the cocktail shaker into a chilled cocktail glass. Drop a maraschino cherry into the cocktail and serve immediately while ice cold.
