Microsoft Word is a word processor application that comes with the Microsoft Office package. Users can create several types of documents includes essays, user guides, flyers, manuals and novels. The application also includes different types of drawing and editing tools that allow users to add headings and shapes to documents, which meet the user’s preferences. For the 2007 version of Word there is a built-in layout for creating timelines, but for Word 2003 users must create a timeline from scratch. Open the Microsoft Word 2003 application on your computer. Click on the “File” option and then click on the “Page Setup” option. Click on the “Landscape” option under the “Orientation” heading and then click on the “OK” button. Click on the “View” menu option and then click on the “Rectangle Tool” option from the “Drawing” toolbar. Use your mouse to draw a rectangle in the Word document. Click on the “Fill Color” option to change the color you want for your timeline. Click on the “Line Tool”
