How Do You Make A Tank Top Tote Bag?
Have an old tank top? Recycle it into a cute tote bag: • Choose a tank top. Plain or colorful fabrics are fine. The shoulder straps will become the handles. • Turn the tank top inside out. • Using scissors, remove the lower hem. • With right sides together, stitch the bottom back together. Stitch from one side seam to the other. • Miter the lower corners of the bag to add strength and support. • Turn the bag right side out. • Add pockets, if desired. Use plain or colorful fabrics. Attach pockets to the inside or outside of the bag, in various shapes or sizes, depending upon your needs. • Place two thick strips of cardboard in the bottom of the bag for further support, if desired. Make the cardboard the exact width of the miter and exact length of the base of the bag for a snug fit. Add trim, such as beads, buttons, bows, sequins or embroidery.
