Make sure that it is clean and has no holes or other defects that will affect your finished purse. Step 2 Iron your tank top so that it is completely flat. Wrinkles in the fabric will make the tank top harder to sew. Step 3 Decide on how large or small you want your purse to be. You can just sew at the bottom and have a large purse or make it smaller by sewing farther up the bottom. Step 4 Flip the tank top inside out and pin the bottom shut.
