Make a synth line in GarageBand to make your project more unique. Open GarageBand, and make sure your USB midi piano keyboard is plugged into your USB port. Make a new software instrument track for your existing project, or make a new project and make a new software instrument track in the project. When you make a new software track, it usually defaults as the Grand Piano. Double click on the Grand Piano logo to open up the software instrument sidebar if it isn’t already open. Click on the synth leads menu in the sidebar. On the right are all the different pre-programmed voices. Find a synth voice that suits your project. Click on the Details button below the Voice selection box if you want to further tweak the voice. Hit the tiny round record button on the software instrument track you want to record to.
