You never know when a survival slingshot will come in handy. It is best to prepare ahead of time, so make a survival slingshot and keep it in your backpack with you while you are hiking. Find a tree that has some fairly low branches. Having low branches will make it easier for you to cut the right piece of wood off. Take a look at the tree and find a branch that has a pretty thick “Y” shaped branch. The thickness of the branch shouldn’t be less than one inch in diameter. A survival slingshot should be strong and not break when you pull back on the rubber. Saw off the “Y” shaped branch. Leave enough room for a handle, which should extend through your closed fist. The upper “Y” shape should be just as long from the base of the handle of the survival slingshot. Cut a notch in the top of each of the leg’s of the “Y.” This will give the rubber a secure place to stay while you are wrapping it. Take the rubber tubing and place it in one of the notches. Leave an excess of about one inch and ho
