It can be fun to build model boats and figures for a pirate ship scene. The more intricate the pirate boat scene is, the more exciting and interesting it can be for other people to look at. A nice touch for your display is to make a sunken treasure map for your “pirates” to search for. Making a treasure map is easy and adds excitement to your pirate display. Find a piece of paper and cut it to about the size that you want your sunken treasure map to be. You may want to create multiple maps so that many of your pirates can hold one. Make sure the maps are proportionate to the size of the other features of your scene. Do not make your map too giant or it will dwarf your people and boat. Maybe one of your sunken treasure maps can be a folded-up map, or a scroll. Next, color the surface of the sunken treasure map to look authentic.
