How Do You Make A Strawberry Sour Cream Salad?
My grandmother made this salad at every holiday dinner we’ve had in the past 20 or so years. It is excellent! The perfect blend of sweet and sour. It’s like a dessert, but just quite not that rich. Prepare the ingredients: * 2 small boxes of strawberry gelatin * 1 1/3 cups of boiling water * 1 small can of crushed pineapple * 1 pt of fresh or frozen strawberries (thawed) * 1 cup of chopped pecans * 2 sliced bananas Mix the strawberry gelatin and the boiling water together. Add the strawberries. If using fresh strawberries, wash and slice them up. If using frozen, make sure they are thawed out. My grandmother always used sweetened frozen sliced strawberries. Add the pineapple, bananas and pecans in next. Pour 1/2 the mixture into a casserole dish and chilled. Once the gelatin is firm, spread a layer of sour cream on. Then top with the remaining gelatin mixture. Keep refrigerated.
