How Do You Make A Strawberry Rhubarb Pie?
Strawberry season always makes me dream of the smell of strawberry rhubarb pie cooking in the oven. Below is an easy way to make a strawberry rhubarb pie. It’s fast. I don’t consider it cheating and it tastes fabulous. Finally, remember that when making this recipe, using fresh strawberries are best. Rinse off strawberries and rhubarb. Cut off strawberry stems. Cut strawberries in half. In a bowl, crush 1/2 of the strawberries with a masher tool (whatever you can find to crush the strawberries). Take the other cut half and put them in the bowl. Cut rhubarb in 1/2 inch pieces, add to strawberries. Add flour, sugar and salt. Stir until well blended. You can use organic brown sugar in this recipe if you prefer. Place roll out crust in bottom of pie pan. Pour strawberry and rhubarb mixture into pie pan, on top of crust. Cut butter into thin slices and place on top of strawberry/rhubarb mixture.
