The Statue of Liberty is a popular American patriotic costume. Whether you need the outfit for a school play or perhaps for Halloween, it’s easy and inexpensive to make with only a few simple household items. Step 1 Dye the sheet green and allow to dry completely if starting with a white sheet. Step 2 Cut a piece of green poster board to make a cone shape for the torch. If you have to use white poster board, paint it green and allow to dry before continuing with the torch. Roll poster board into a cone and glue to secure. Step 3 Take yellow tissue paper and stuff into the cone to mimic a flame from the torch. Step 4 Cut another piece of green poster board in the shape of a crown. Outline with black marker.
