Rust can be a dangerous fungus to your rose bushes. Rust looks like red, orange or yellow spots on the under sides of the leaves of your rose bushes that will progress and turn the leaf yellow which will ultimately die and fall off. If rust isn’t controlled it can damage or kill your roses. Rust can be spread from one rose bush to another from the wind blowing the rust spores. Rust grows in cool, damp locations. Before treating your roses with this spray to prevent further rust, it is important to remove all infected leaves and throw them in the garbage. Rust infected leaves cannot be put in your compost pile or compost bin. Mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda, 1 tablespoon of canola oil, ½ mild liquid hand soap, ¾ of a cup of white vinegar and about 1 gallon of water in a bucket. Mix the ingredients thoroughly in a large bucket. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle. Spray the leaves of your rose bushes early in the morning. Be sure to spray the under sides of the leaves too. Do not spray
