With a spirometer, you can design experiments to compare the lung capacities of boys and girls, adults and children, smokers and nonsmokers or athletes and non-athletes. The sky is the limit on who can be studied. There are some basic considerations to take into account when designing your experiment. Set up your spirometer in an area where it sits flat on a low table or chair and will be easy for all of your experimental subjects to access.
