The sod house is an ancient form of housing made entirely out of sod, which is layers of grass and the underlying topsoil held together by the grass’s roots. Sod houses have been built by a variety of different cultures on different continents, including the plains of North America. If you would like to see what a sod house looks like, you don’t have to make a trip to the Great Plains. You can build a model sod house yourself. Remove four index cards from the package. Tape the short sides of two of the index cards together standing up to form and “L” shape. Repeat this with the other two cards. Tape these two “L” shapes together to form a box with dimensions 3-by-5-by-5 inches. Spread the craft glue on the outside of the box on all sides. Attach craft moss on all sides of the outside of the index card box. Cut away any excess. Also, cut out a door and windows where desired. Allow the box to dry for about two hours.
