To create a moveable mouth for your puppet ~ cut a red circle from a piece of thick flannel or even red cardstock. Fold the circle straight done the center. Add a tongue and teeth if you’d like. Before sewing the mouth into the puppet, you need to figure out the proper location. This is done by putting the sock over your hand, stretching the fingers in the toes and thumb in the heel. Close the hand slowly (as if you are starting to form the letter C with your hand) and look for the area where the sock begins to fold in. This is where you’ll want to stitch or glue in the mouth.
